Just had to bring back this picture that I took at Disneyland because π!
Happy Veterans Day to those who protect our Country and Freedom!
You guys. This picture. I BAWLED as this Veteran, with shaking hands, gave thumbs up to the “Toy Soldier.” Disney is Magic, and our Veterans are amazing. Afterwards we were able to shake their hands and give their wives hugs and thank them for their service. Freedom isn’t free. So grateful to live in this great Country and for the people who protect it.πΊπΈ
My Dad spent a lot of years being deployed and he met me for the first time when I was 4 months old. He was on one of the many deployments where he would serve on the front lines of war. The families back home also go though an unseen battle at times–of course they miss their deployed soldier, but when you finally get them back, there is so much adjusting to do and so many factors to take into account with someone who has just returned from war. Even small things like being careful to close doors softly, etc., are little things that might not seem like a big deal, but are needed to help them transition. My Dad came home from Kuwait this year, and it’s so fun seeing him be such a great Grandpa! Our Freedom is something so precious that comes at a high price! Grateful for those who love and believe in our Country so much that they commit to protecting it!πΊπΈ
